Transnistrian State Drama and Comedy Theater named after N.S. Aronetskaia (former Pridnestrovian State Drama and Comedy Theater)

A new page in the history of theatrical art in our region began in 1969, with the issuance of the order of the Ministry of Culture of the Moldavian SSR dated 11.08.1969 "On the organization of the Russian Drama Theater in Tiraspol", and on March 26, 1970, its official opening took place with the play "City at Dawn" by A. Arbuzov, directed by N. Aronetskaya. The first chief director and teacher N.S. Aronetskaya stood at the origins of the current theatre. For her services in educating the young generation of theatrical art and her great contribution to the work of the theater, the name of N. S. Aronetskaya is immortalized in the name of our theater. On July 28, 2001, the Pridnestrovian State Drama and Comedy Theater was named after Nadezhda Stepanovna Aronetskaya. (Order of the President of the PMR "On renaming the Republican Theater" No. 464 dated July 23, 2001). Today it is the Pridnestrovian State Drama and Comedy Theater named after N. S. Aronetskaya. On September 2, 1990, within the walls of the theatre, at the II Extraordinary Congress of Deputies, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic was proclaimed. In 1990, the Theatre was given the functions of the "Young Spectator's Theatre", which gives it the opportunity to more fully cover the age contingent of the spectator in the republic. In order to activate the creative process, a new system of collective management was introduced. Despite the difficulties that befell the theatre in connection with the reconstruction of the building from 1990 to 2005, the theatre continued active work on the production and rental of performances. In 1992, the Republican Russian Drama and Comedy Theatre came under the jurisdiction of the PMR and became known as the "Pridnestrovian State Drama and Comedy Theatre".
