Road Sign and Statue and Bas Relief - Samurza
Unknown — Socialist Modernist
Description
My favorite roadside sign that I’ve come across so far. By Samurza, it’s composed of two tall vertical concrete pillars supporting the village name Светлы/Svetly. To the right, a seated female figure in long attire extends one welcoming arm outward. On the left side of the ensemble, a large carved bas-relief panel shows three women harvesting grapes.
