Memorial to the Great Patriotic War - Soltanesti

Written in Moldovan/Romanian in cyrillic, the memorial says: “The memory of our fellow villagers will never be erased, nor the remembrance of the soldiers who fell in the battles for the defense of the Motherland in the years 1941–1945”, followed by a list of names of those who died. It consists of a large, rectangular concrete slab with a dramatic bas-relief cast in dark metal, featuring two soldiers in forward motion, one holding a submachine gun and the other a rifle. Both figures are framed by stylized, wind-blown Soviet banners or capes.
