Memorial for Afghanistan - Ungheni

The memorial features a stylized bronze sculpture of a soldier in Soviet military gear, fused with a tall vertical abstract form resembling a fractured banner. The sculpture stands atop a polished stone pedestal, with a black plaque inscribed in Romanian "In memoria eroilor cazuti pe campul de lupta Afganistan 1979–1989”, translated in English as “In memory of the heroes who fell on the battlefield in Afghanistan, 1979–1989”. The memorial is situated nearby the Palace of Culture of Ungheni.
