Bus Stop - Zazuleni
Unknown — 1960s-1980s
Description
The Zozulyany bus stop is a rectangular concrete shelter with a flat, cantilevered roof and minimal ornament. Its surfaces were likely recently painted in plain white. A single round window punctuates the side wall and the recessed rectangular waiting area recall the abstract language of El Lissitzky and Malevich. Though almost certainly built in the 1970s or 1980s, its constructivist character points to the legacy of Soviet avant garde in the 1910s and 1920s.
