Bus Stop - Volovita
Unknown — 1960s-1980s
Description
This bus stop in Volovita features a steep, pitched roof clad in red sheet tile and supported by two mirrored enclosures. Each side forms a partially enclosed wedge, allowing passengers to choose a side based on wind or weather offering full protection on both sides – unlike many Soviet-era shelters that are open from the rear or exposed on one side. While the dual-sided layout provides coverage, it also creates a practical drawback: visibility. I can only imagine sheltering on the far side during heavy rain or wind, only to miss the approaching bus or marshrutka.
