Bas Relief - Central Market 1 - Balti

Four elongated figures framed in arched panels make up this this gorgeous, socialist realist bas relief in the Central Market of Bălți. The three women stand in front of vegetation; the sole man (third from the left) against wheat stalks. The relief is rendered in white-painted plaster and mounted against a pink wall. Unfortunately, an air conditioner was placed in the middle. A second relief mirrors this one in the market. They likely stem from 1967 when the market was built.
