Monument to the Glory of Railway Workers - Bender

Description
The Museum Complex of the Glory of Railway Workers was opened in 1977 and is an integral part of the Memorial of the Revolutionary, Military, Labor Glory of Railway Workers. Located in two carriages at the station square in Bendery. The exposition tells about the development of the Bendery railway junction from the beginning of the construction of the railway on the territory of Moldova and up to the beginning of the XXI century. The SU-206 steam locomotive itself and the cars are a museum relic in which the museum’s exposition is located. Designers V. Petrov and E. Chumak Located next to Bender-1 Railway Station, the 6-metre stele is part of the Memorial to the Revolutionary, Military and Labour Glory of Railway Workers and represents three generations of railwaymen. A monument commemorating the 1918 “Black Fence” massacre and the Museum Complex of the Glory of Railway Workers make up the other components of the memorial site.
