Memorial to Fallen Soldiers - Rașcov
Unknown — 1960s-1980s
Description
A granite-clad obelisk on Lenina Street commemorating local soldiers killed in the Second World War, fronted by a wall of black panels listing names by surname. The shaft carries three stacked reliefs: a Soviet star, a dedicatory shield reading "To the soldiers who died, 1941–1945," and a cast portrait of Fyodor Zharchinsky (1913-1945), the village's most decorated wartime figure. The density of names on the panels below gives some sense of the scale of loss suffered by a single rural community.
