Bus Stop - Silk Factory - Bender

This large bus stop in Bender once greeted visitors arriving by public transport to the Bendery Labor Silk Factory, a Soviet industrial giant founded in 1959. Transnistria’s industrial base has traditionally included textile production, and the region was a major industrial hub in the Moldavian SSR. A long mosaic lines the interior wall of the shelter in front of the Silk Factory. It features flowing motifs of plants and flowers in turquoise, green, and blue tesserae, resembling a woven textile unrolled across the wall.
