Bus Stop - Oliscani
Unknown — 1960s-1980s
Description
The bus stop at Olișcani is built as a simple concrete box shelter, framed by two blue cylindrical columns that support a wide flat roof extending outward in a protective slab. A small concrete circle functioning as a bench rings each of the two columns. The mosaic program is unusually rich, depicting four frontal female figures in socialist realist style across the interior, each associated with rural labor: grapes, apples, buckets of milk (standing in front of two cows), and likely harvest motifs. They all wear fashionable boots in different colors. Strong reds, yellows, and blues (the national colors of Moldova) highlight fruit, animals, and garments. The outer walls also host two female figures, such as the woman with a plate of apples.
