Bus Stop - Marasesti
Unknown — 1960s-1980s
Description
The large circular void in this shelter in Marasesti calls upon constructivist style. a a flat concrete roof and walls treated in white roughcast plaster, contrasting with sharply defined mosaic panels inset into the structure. The repeated mosaic patterns resemble a vegetal sprig, likely from traditional Romanian embroidery forms. Zigzag lines in the surrounding motifs echo folk symbols for lightning or serpentine movement; the black, orange and reds emphasize this sense of electricity. Despite minor weathering along the roofline and outside walls, the building appears well-preserved.
